I admire people with social media limits. It’s a hard habit to break, especially when you’ve been online since the dial-up era. Youngsters today will never experience being knocked off the net when a family member picks up the landline phone.
Then there's the big FoMO, fear of missing out and FoE or feelings of exclusion. Social media has definitely evolved since the dial-up era, some for the good and some, in my opinion, for the worst.

Especially when you’re subjected to data driven overwhelming algorithms of ads, suggested feeds, click-bate content and now AI slop. Whenever I sign into certain apps I feel like I’m forced to wait in a check-out lane distracted by gossip magazines, puzzle books, savory and sweets snacks. It’s the exact opposite reason why I joined certain platforms when they launched in the late 2000’s; to keep in touch with friends and family…ok sure, to also remember their birthdays.
Unfortunately, with merging unregulated big tech monopolies it’s getting harder to “trust” each platform with our personal data, our personal content and how they regurgitate that back to us, including platforms we artist and small businesses rely on. It’s one of the main reasons why I haven’t had a much of presence on certain social apps lately and am (re)thinking where to spend my energy and income.
For now if you’re looking to support me, my art/business you can follow me via:
Newsletter (Bi-monthly; because if I hate being bombarded with email notifications, I’m sure you do): Links to these blog posts, new creation highlights, super coupon codes, Up Next (where to find me) and other morbid softie related interests.
* ETSY: After a mini hibernation break I will be reopening my Etsy store mid August with selected one of a kind pieces and overstock supplies from my studio BUT prices will be reflected based on current platforms fees.
Instagram: Pics and video of my art, nostalgia meme and video related contented (sometimes shamelessly promoting my jewelry), story bumps and amplification of important missions and causes.
* Patreon: Free and subscription based content. Subscriptions get extra behind the scenes, supreme coupon codes (better than the newsletter).
Pinterest: Mostly pictures of my jewelry.
Venmo: If you would like and able to support me, my work with funding (without the attachments of a subscription or follow).
P.S. *It’s always better to buy and support makers directly via Venmo, cash etc. (direct income vs. app transaction fees)
